Who is it for?

You can be a member of the Algemene Spaar-En Kredietcooperatie ACU if you:

  • Are either employed or a retiree of one of the governmental companies or organizations of Curacao, St. Maarten Aruba or the BES islands.
  • Are employed by one of the companies approved by the ACU or organizations. (Curaçao, Bonaire and SXM)
  • You are an adult and your spouse, partner, father or mother, is a member of the ACU. As a family member you must have a steady income, to also be able to join. Cohabiting partners require a registered partnership.

 

Registration

Registration is possible at the ACU office.  The following is discussed with each applicant:

  • A completed and signed application form
  • The latest pay slip
  • A valid ID
  • A completed authorization for a monthly ACU deduction of at least 25 NAƒ per share.

 

Registration of other family members

Family members (spouse or children) who wish to join must submit the following:

  • All of the above matters
  • Identification
  • Marriage certificate (for the spouse) or notarized proof of society.

Registration Fee

The registration fee totals NAƒ 103 per person. This total is made up as follows:

  • NAƒ 50 = first share
  • NAƒ 53 = administration plus tax

 

Change of address, employer or function

If you change your address, employer or function, it is important that you report this as soon as possible at the ACU. You can do so by:

  • Personally stopping by the office of ACU.
  • Sending a postcard with your change of address to the Pater Eeuwensweg 7 or to PO Box 497.
  • Utilizing our information form and sending your new information by fax or e-mail at (5999) 462-7110 or info@acu.cw.

 

Remaining a member abroad

Are you planning on settling abroad while still remaining a member?

  • Stop by our office to inform us your future address.
  • Leave a written authorization behind so that others can continue to look after your financial affairs.
  • Sign a disclaimer so that, if necessary, the ACU can carry out transactions abroad on your behalf.
